If your answer to these questions is “yes,” then you could be a fit for Protective’s Summer Internship Program! Our Internship Program is a 10-week program that provides high-performing college students with paid, hands-on experience, mentoring and insight into our business operations.

Interns will have the opportunity to collaborate with business leaders to develop and execute solutions to real business problems. In addition to gaining meaningful work experience, interns will have the opportunity to participate in various community and professional development events. Protective Life has been recognized by Forbes as one of America’s Best Midsize Employers.

The Protective Summer Internship program begins in late-May. Internships are available at our corporate office in Birmingham, AL.

Student Intern Criteria

  • College student pursuing an undergraduate degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA; Juniors and Seniors preferred OR graduate student pursuing a master’s degree with a minimum of 3.0 GPA
  • Pursuing a four-year degree – including, but not limited to Actuarial Science, Statistics and Mathematics
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a self-starter
  • Passed 1 SOA exam

Actuarial Internship Alabama – What to expect as a Protective Intern
